Iggy Pop And Jet To Go Wild At ARIA Hall Of Fame

IGGY POP AND JET TO GO WILD AT ARIA HALL OF FAME:

April 26, 2008

Iggy Pop is expected to head to Australia to perform Johnny O’Keefe’s ‘The Wild One’ with Jet at the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Pop and Jet recorded the song earlier this month in Miami as part of a Johnny O’Keefe tribute album.

The song is expected to be performed live at the Hall of Fame in Melbourne later this year.

For Pop, the song brings him full circle to his 1986 version, which was released as ‘Real Wild Child’.

The Pop and Jet collaboration is equally enchanting. Jet blatantly borrowed Pop’s ‘Lust For Life’ as the template for the song that broke them worldwide ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’.

When Jet’s ‘Get Born’ album was first released, singer Nic Cester told Undercover that the comparison to Pop’s song was not co-incidental. He says he was a big fan of Pop and then song.

The Johnny O’Keefe tribute album will be released later this year through Warner Music.
