Vocalist Jeff Scott Soto has been working on a new solo album that he promises will return to his heavier roots.
“Recently canceled gigs means I’m spending more time working on the new album,” said the frontman. “I have to keep reminding everyone expecting a follow up to most I’ve done thus far as a solo artist, I’m flipping the switch yet again and returning my heavier roots this time around.”
Soto has an extensive biography, working with such acts as Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Rudi Pell, Eyes, Talisman, Soul SirkUS, Journey and W.E.T. His fifth studio album, ‘Damage Control’, was released in March 2012 through Frontiers Records.
With his new studio album Soto is aiming for a spring 2014 release and promises, “many more surprises in store as it’s created, more guest appearances and pals that will round it all off.”
“With the help of my own bandmates and power writer/pals like Gus G (Ozzy/Firewind), Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) and Jason Bieler (Saigon Kick) as well as some new names like Connor Engstrom and Joel Hoekstra, the album so far is ultra heavy yet very melodic,” the singer continues. “2014 will be my 30 year anniversary as a professional singer so I wanna ring it in with a banging metal album that goes full circle in where it all began!”
