Jim Crean has new studio album, covers record and live album/DVD coming out this year
All Music / All Bands recently interviewed Hair Nation lead vocalist Jim Crean who was slated at one point to replace Robert Fleischman as the singer for Vinnie Vincent‘s eventually cancelled comeback gigs back in February 2019.
In terms of his upcoming plans, Crean shared (with slight edits): “I have a lot of cool things happening such as three new albums coming out this year! A live album/DVD that was recorded at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, Los Angeles. A covers album and new studio album as well featuring Vinny Appice (Dio / Black Sabbath) and Steph Honde (Hollywood Monsters / Paul D’ianno) and produced by Artie Dillon.”
Crean added: “Yes! I have an amazing new album coming out with Steph Honde (Paul D’ianno / Hollywood Monsters) and Vinny Appice (Dio / Black Sabbath / Heaven & Hell / Last In Line)! All the songs on the new record titled “The Beautiful” are written by myself, Steph and Vinny. Me and Steph decided to start writing songs together and make a new album. I then reached out to Vinny and then we began to work on it. We then demoed a few songs out and began to shop them to get a record deal. My good friend Carl Canedy from The Rods suggested that I reach out to Sleaszy Rider Records out of Greece. We sent the demos to the owner / A&R Tolis Palantzas and he loved them! He signed me to a multiple album deal. We will also be re-releasing my back album catalog through them with an international distribution deal. I also am putting out two cover albums for pre-order of the new studio album.”
With respect to the direction of his new studio record, Crean indicated: “The new album is very heavy and darker than what I usually put out. I think it’s my best yet!”
In regard to his upcoming live CD/DVD and whether there will be appearances from any special guests, Crean stated: “Yes. The Jim Crean band headlined the Whisky in Los Angeles, California last August 2nd and it was recorded for a DVD / live album. We are going to release that package around the same time as my new album drops. Many thanks to Steve Susman for working so hard to make that show happen and working so hard to get me to the next level.”
