December 27, 2010
The Jimmy Crespo Project has decided to continue with a new singer after the departure of Chris Van Dahl, an announcement will be made soon. It is important to the band to find a singer with his own identity who can also do justice to the Crespo era Aerosmith songs.
Starting in January 2011, Jimmy will also be subbing with Sin City Sinners in Las Vegas until the band’s singer/guitarist Todd Kerns returns from touring with Slash.
Jimmy Crespo may be best known for co-writing Aerosmith’s 1982 ‘Rock in a Hard Place’ with Steven Tyler. Crespo became a member of Aerosmith replacing Joe Perry from 1979-1984. Crespo also appeared on ‘Night in the Ruts’ and the ‘Pandora’s Box’ set. After years of playing with artists including Rod Stewart, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck, Stevie Nicks, Bon Jovi, Clarence Clemons, Little Steven, Billy Squire and Dee Snider — Jimmy is ready to return to center stage with his brand new band The Jimmy Crespo Project.
2012 will mark the 30 year anniversary of the release of ‘Rock In a Hard Place’ and from now until then Jimmy Crespo & his new band will let the music do the talkin. The band is ready to debut a blistering 90 minute show featuring classic rock hits and Crespo era Aerosmith songs you can only hear him play live. The Jimmy Crespo Project also has plans to release an album of original material that promises to pick up where classic Aerosmith left off.
