Jon Levin states new Dokken album to have group’s classic sound with possible May 2018 release
Dokken guitarist Jon Levin recently spoke to Andrew Catania of All That Shreds and gave an update on Dokken‘s upcoming new studio album and any possible reunion of the band’s classic line-up of lead vocalist Don Dokken, guitarist George Lynch, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer “Wild” Mick Brown.
In terms of Dokken‘s new album, Levin stated: “We’re on the road all of July; we come back to do some US dates, then were back to Europe… As November and December come, and things slow down, we’re going to start writing for a new Dokken record… It’s definitely going to have the classic Dokken sound. We should have it released in May of 2018 I’m thinking,”
With respect to the reunion of the band’s classic line-up, Levin advised: “I encouraged Don to do the reunion last fall. If they do another reunion, I’m perfectly fine with it. It’s Don’s decision to make.”
Dokken‘s last studio album dates back to 2012 when they released Broken Bones with Sean McNabb handling the bass rather than Chris McCarvill.
