Judas Priest launch ’50 Heavy Metal Years’ tour

Iconic rockers, Judas Priest, kicked off their North American 50 Heavy Metal Years tour at The Theater at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania (USA) last night (on September 8, 2021). The trek marks the 50th anniversary of the band, considered one of the finest in the metal genre.

Priest‘s set in Reading was similar to the one they recently played at Bloodstock Open Air back in August, mixing in seldom played tracks, “One Shot At Glory,” and newer material “Lightning Strike” (from 2018’s Firepower) with the band’s classic catalog of hits.

Judas Priest were once again without original guitarist, Glenn Tipton, who is sidelined with Parkinson’s Disease. Tipton was once again replaced by Andy Sneap.

Sneap was joined by Richie Faulkner (guitars), Scott Travis (drums), and long-time members Rob Halford (lead vocals) and Ian Hill (bass).

In all, Judas Priest blasted through 18 songs including a ferocious encore of “The Hellion/Electric Eye,” “Hell Bent for Leather,” “Breaking The Law,” and show closer “Living After Midnight.”
