KISS bassist Gene Simmons states that ‘Kissology IV’ finished but lawyers taking their time

KISS co-founder, bassist and singer Gene Simmons was recently interviewed by Marko Syrjala of Finland’s Imperiumi.

Simmons spoke about the status of Kissology IV and stated: “Well, number four is finished, but the lawyers are taking their time, I don’t know why. It takes a long time.” When it was pointed out that it had been eleven years since the last Kissology came out, Simmons stated: “Yeah, I know. But when you see a farmer and he is putting a seed in the ground, and he says, “Well, this is going to be an apple tree. You say, “Okay, can I come by tomorrow?”… Of course. Everything takes longer. But it’s coming. If she’s going to be pregnant tomorrow and you say, “Where’s the baby?” No, no you got to wait nine months. A box set, I always wanted to do a box set. Yes, and now the Vault is here.”

In terms of putting out a new KISS studio album, Simmons stated: “Yeah. So, putting out a new Kiss record, I’m not excited by it. If somebody wants to pay us, then we’ll take the time and go in and do a real album, but I’m not excited about it. Doing knew writing is different. You’re home alone. You’re watching television. You’re starting to go, “Oh, what’s that?” And you turn off the TV and you start to hum, “I got something here”. [laughter]. And you put it down.”
