L.A. Knights Ready To Begin Recording ‘Psychoanalyze’

March 11, 2015

The L.A. Knights will enter an Akron, Ohio studio with new producer Curran Murphy (Annihilator, Nevermore, Shatter Messiah) to begin recording their new album for a tentative summer release. Knights guitarist Jozey Zeitler recently told John “American Hilljack” Lane, host of the Hilljack House, that he hopes to be done tracking the new CD ‘Psychoanalyze’ sometime in April with an album release to follow in early summer.

L. A. Knights debut release was ‘Rubber City Meltdown’, which caught the eye of several independent record labels, culminating in the signing with Independent Ear Records and the CD release in April of 2013. The band was also recently featured on a tribute album for rock legends The Godz, covering the song “Guaranteed” from their debut release. “Guaranteed” will also be included on ‘Psychoanalyze’, as well as a raucous version of The Beatles number one hit “Hard Days Night”.

While ‘Rubber City Meltdown’ showed the rock world L.A. Knights’ potential and received great reviews, the band chose Murphy to bring out the aggressive and dirtier side of the band’s new offerings. Songs like the title track, “Trainwreck”, “Dance”, “That Girl”, “Devil On My Heels”, “For The Girls”, “Time Wounds All Heels”, “Whiskey Drinking Fool”, “Tattooed And Scarred”, and “Don’t Let Me Down”, show the band’s influences, which include Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Junkyard, Buckcherry and of course The Rolling Stones and the Beatles.

Producer Curran Murphy owns and operates Custom Audio Mutations in Akron, Ohio. The L.A. Knights also loved the fact that the studio is a local one, and wanted to work with someone who has a worldwide reputation and also represents the local scene from which they are so proud to come from. Murphy, who also builds custom guitars, tube amps and effect pedals, puts his energy and intensity into everything he works on and he intends to put that focus, experience, intensity and drive into the new L.A. Knights album ‘Psychoanalyze’.
