Lizzy Borden advises reviews 90% positive for ‘My Midnight Things’ and hoping for new album in 2021

Shock rocker Lizzy Borden was interviewed by Alan Dixon for Canada’s The Metal Voice at the Corona Theater in Montreal, Quebec, Canada yesterday.

With respect to the feedback received for Lizzy Borden‘s latest album My Midnight Things, the frontman indicated (with slight edits): “It’s the best reviewed album the band has ever had. It’s the first album to chart since 1989’s Master of Disguise. The album has just exploded. I have never seen such positivity toward one of our records in my whole career. For some reason, this album is in the middle of the road for making people happy.  I had no clue what to expect. Usually, we get a mixed response but it’s been 90% all positive.”

In terms of whether he is working on a new Lizzy Borden album, the singer advised: “We have some things planned for next year, 2020, so I’m hoping for a new record [by] 2021. When I am done with this tour, I will go back into writing sessions for the new album.”

Sleaze Roxx stated as follows in its review of Lizzy Borden‘s last studio album My Midnight Things, which was released via Metal Blade Records in June 2018:

“As I contemplate my listening experience, I have to admit that there is nothing on this album that I did not enjoy. I think the word ‘diverse’ really speaks to me on all accounts. It is evident that Borden has embraced many techniques of modern technology to create a different listening experience to that of past albums. The use of instrumentation is very appealing as well. There is much depth throughout every song. I highly recommend that you the reader take a listen to this amazing piece of music. I truly believe that you will not be disappointed.”
