Masque Releases “Body Mind & Soul” Video, Working On New CD
August 15, 2010
MASQUE announced the release of the video for the song Body Mind & Soul produced in conjunction with Zzyzx Films. The new video was directed by award winning filmmaker Mark Jacobs and mixed by multi-platinum producer Keith Olsen, known for producing some of the greatest rock albums by artists including the Scorpions, Whitesnake, Ozzy and many others.
MASQUE experienced an unexpected resurgence in global popularity due to a MySpace tribute page that continued to grow and now boasts over 130,000 fans. The renewed popularity led to the release of the CD titled “Face First” featuring songs previously recorded during the height of the bands 80’s Sunset Strip popularity. Director Jacobs was intrigued on how the phenomenon of social network sites helped MASQUE rise from the ashes to regain popularity with rock fans around the globe. The concept that a local Hollywood band was given a new life to become more popular today than the first time around prompted Jacobs to launch a documentary of the unique story. Jacobs is known for directing some of the most popular major network and cable TV shows including The OCD Project (Vh1), Kitchen Nightmares (Fox), Obsessed (A&E), Rob and Big (MTV), Breaking Bonaduce (Vh1) and SuperGroup (Vh1) featuring Ted Nugent, Sebastian Bach, Evan Seinfeld, Scott Ian and Jason Bonham.
MASQUE is currently in the studio completing the new album that will feature the bands current sound with classic rock influences. The album release date and tour dates will be announced soon.
