Mistress Frontman Offers Free Download From Planned Solo Album

December 23, 2014

With his band Mistress on hiatus, frontman Siggy Signal has begun working on solo material for a planned 2015 release.

“I set up my new studio earlier this year, bought a new drum kit, some recording gear, and started demoing up new material,” Signal told Sleaze Roxx. “Since I’m currently without a band I thought I’d just track everything myself and just have a bit of fun with it. New material has been coming along nicely so I will look to put an album out next year.”

“Demon Doll Records have offered to carry the CD when it’s done, so thats great as those guys have been really awesome to work with,” Signal continues. “I put the new track “Alive And Kickin'” from the upcoming album up as a free download via Bandcamp and posted a lyric video on YouTube.” The track can be downloaded now at siggysignal.bandcamp.com.

Formed in 2008 in Christchurch, New Zealand, by Siggy Signal as a melodic hard rock project, Mistress was inspired by the great AOR and hair metal artists of the ’80s. After relocating to Wellington, New Zealand, with a new line-up, Mistress released their debut full-length ‘Loveteaser’ in 2013 through Demon Doll Records.

Despite working on solo material Signal doesn’t rule out another Mistress album as he tells Sleaze Roxx, “Mistress is on hiatus while I’m doing this new solo project. I would love to do another Mistress album, as I was disappointed with the mix on ‘Loveteaser’, but also it’s hard trying to find the right musicians here that wanna play that music.”
