Moxy Set To Release 40th Anniversary CD/DVD With Slik Toxik Singer
December 9, 2014
Canadian classic hard rockers Moxy have signed with Escape Music to release a 40th anniversary CD/DVD in March 2015. Guitarist Earl Johnson brings Moxy back to life with an elite line-up of musicians including former Slik Toxik singer and Juno Award winner Nick Walsh.
The ‘Moxy 1974-2014: 40 Years And Still Riding High’ anniversary package will include a live DVD/CD from the Sound Academy in Toronto as well as re-recordings of the best songs from the group’s first three albums – ‘moxy I’, ‘Moxy II’ and ‘Riding High’.
Founding member Earl Johnson says, “It has been a long career for MOoxy and what better way to celebrate the music for our 40th anniversary then with this unique package which will be made available through Escape Music in 2015. It gives me great pleasure to see these classic songs come to life with some fresh blood and a brand new recording. We didn’t just re-master the songs like a lot of people are doing today but instead we stripped them down, built them back up and re-recorded them to be more contemporary sonically with the recordings of today.”
Moxy currently consists of Earl Johnson (lead guitar), Nick Walsh (vocals — Slik Toxik, Famous Underground), Alexis Von Kraven (drums — Metal Machine, Exorcism), Rob Robbins (guitar — Steel Lily and Oscar Anasetti (bass — Rabid Hole) with a guest appearance from Arsin bassist Andy Narsingh.
