Out of the closet…
The rumours surrounding this project have been as numerous as there are birds in the forest, sharks in the sea or tooth picks in a box of tooth picks maybe…No matter what; From Behind has now decided to end this charade, and come clean. Despite the Metrosexual-erotic aura surrounding this mystery-group, (wonder why…), what you now are about see, and listen to, is a bunch of totally well functional, well behaved, well hung, leather clad, reasonably straight ( Hold on a minute…what’s happening here…! It’s not a freakin’ post-modern queer theory manifesto; it’s a totally normal rock biography! )…
To make a long (and hard…stop it!) story short:
From Behind play hard rockin’, beer-drenched rock’n’roll for the great masses, hungry for twin- guitar based songs, sung by one of Britain’s leading rock vocalists; Nicky Moore. Nicky’s CV is as long and impressing as British rock itself. The former Samson front man, by some referred to as “the fat guy who replaced Bruce Dickinson”, was in fact to large extent responsible for making Samson the British metal legend it still is today, putting the band to their highest chart positions during their career!
After Samson disbanded he became part of Mammoth, literally the heaviest of all heavy metal bands, alongside John McCoy of Ian Gillan fame.
With a voice dripping with soul and emotion, his reputation as a great per former is up there with the likes of Paul Rodgers, Frankie Miller and Van Morrison. Currently touring with his own blues band, he’s today as active as ever.
Janne Stark, a living encyclopaedia of Swedish hard rock (an author of two books on the subject) , is now in his third decade as a recording artist, in the eighties paving way for Swedish metal with his band Overdrive. Currently a member of Locomotive Breath alongside fellow Behinders Ted Wernersson & Matthias Osback, he remains one of Sweden’s most distinctive guitar slingers.
Martin Wezowski, Mikael Fassberg and Carl-Michael “Hilton” Hildesjo have kept a high profile on the south Swedish music scene, playing with Majestic, Burning Engines and Merrygold to name a few. Their current occupation sees them backing former Iron maiden vocalist Paul DiAnno while on his 2005 tour, as well as playing loud and raunchy dirt-rock in Burning Engines.
Why Two drummers?
Why not?
Why the odd name?
Not even their manager knows for sure…Something to do with logistics maybe…
Why should you care… ?
Because the songs are firmly rooted in a time when Rock was about reaching out to an audience, instead of your own bellybutton. “A time when the Les Paul was king, and Singers we’re allowed to sing…” It’s Good, Clean, and Mean Entertainment performed with Emotion and Pride.
