CONCERT TO BENEFIT VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC AND HONOR MARKY RAMONE:

New York Rockers Stage Concert to Benefit VH1 Save the Musicand Honor Marky Ramone
Five of New York’s most popular rock acts will perform at the Rock & RollBall, a Benefit Concert for VH1 Save the Music, at the Knitting Factory inNew York City on Tuesday, May 10 at 7:00 PM. “Guest of Honor,” Ramonesdrummer Marky Ramone, will also be on hand to represent the legendarymusicians who began their careers in New York.
Hosted by concert presenter and VH1 “Metal Moments” Metal Expert, JohnOstronomy, the show will feature Nef Jones, Captain T & Ostronomy withspecial guest Richie Scarlet, Lourds, Queen V, and Joker Five Speed.
According to Ostronomy, the musical lineup is very diverse. “Lourds dazzledaudiences with her violin at Carnegie Hall at age 6, Queen V embodies therock and roll rebel, Nef Jones’ influences include everything from SherylCrow to Zeppelin and Hip Hop, and Joker Five Speed plays turbo charged, piledriving rock,” said Ostronomy. “Plus, I’ll be performing with my fellow VH1″Metal Moments” Metal Expert, Captain T, a.k.a. Mark Strigl.”
Ostronomy is also looking forward to appearances by two of his favoriteguitarists, Richie Scarlet, who will join Captain T & Ostronomy onstage, andJimi K. Bones, who plays guitar with Nef Jones. “I’ve been a fan of Richie’ssince his years with the Ace Frehley Band and Mountain, and I’ve followedJimi K. Bones’ career from his days with Skin & Bones and Kix to his morerecent tour with Blondie,” said Ostronomy.
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated toimproving the quality of education in America’s public schools by restoringmusic programs in cities across the country and raising public awarenessabout the importance of music participation for our nation’s youth.
