SIDEWINDER MUSIC TO RELEASEMETAL MANIA STRIPPED ACROSS AMERICA LIVE!DVD ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST, HOT ONTHE HEELS OF LAST FALL’S SOLD OUT CONCERT RUN

Proving that Metal Mania is back with a vengeance, Sidewinder Music has announced the forthcoming DVD release of Metal Mania Stripped Across America Live!

Slated for release on February 21st, the DVD of metal’s greatest performances — done acoustically — arrives hot on the heels of last fall’s three-week concert run throughout America, which included stops at XM Radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, VH-1 Classic Studios, ESPN Cold Pizza and performances at two military bases – Fort Lewis and Fort Bragg.

Metal Mania Stripped Across America Live! features rare and never before seen performances from Kip Winger, LA Guns, Alias (with guitarist Jason Hook), Great White, Jani Lani (formerly of Warrant) and Slaughter (from the historic February 2005 Metal Mania Stripped record release party and acoustic concert at the Key Club in Hollywood) as well as performances by Stephen Pearcy (formerly of Ratt), Firehouse and Jani Lane (from the epic Halloween 2005 concert at Myth in St. Paul, Minnesota).

“Even though these tracks are acoustic, this DVD still rocks and shows that these songs truly stand the test of time,” states Kip Winger. “I was psyched to perform the acoustic version of “Madalaine” out on tour, because it’s one of my favorite Winger songs.”

In addition to the concert performances, the DVD features incredible bonus footage that includes a rare version of White Lion’s Mike Tramp performing “When The Children Cry” along with behind the scenes interviews, artist photo galleries, original promo TV spots, military base highlights, tour outtakes, never seen before footage and much more?

Jack Russell of Great White comments that, “The list of acoustic tracks on the Stripped discs is outstanding. Being able to perform the acoustic versions with a group of musicians who love what they do was absolutely incredible.”

The new Metal Mania Stripped Across America Live! DVD captures many of the same artists that appeared on Sidewinder’s immensely successful Metal Mania Stripped CD (an acoustic compilation of the biggest hard rock ballad hits of all-time released on February 8, 2005) and/or their Metal Mania Stripped Volume 2: “The Anthems” CD (acoustic versions of heavy metal’s greatest anthems released on October 18, 2005), which have sold in excess of 100,000 units and 60,000, respectively. Both are still selling strong and the new DVD release makes a great companion to the Metal Mania Stripped CD releases.

Who could forget the era of the 80’s and early 90’s where music was all about fun?

The heads were bangin’, the hair was flyin’, the guitars were swingin’ and hard rock music was played the way it was meant to be… loud!

MTV ate it up and so did rock radio.

“Cherry Pie” quickly became rock’n’roll’s favorite dessert and headbanger’s repeatedly came “Back For More.”

Jani Lane (formerly of Warrant) summed up his “awesome” Stripped experience by saying, “It was great to revisit old friends and play some of the old hits. The opportunity to create acoustic versions of some of the best songs of my career was a definite highlight. I am really excited about bringing the special performances included on this DVD, along with the other Stripped artists’, to friends and fans across the country.”

Recognizing the need to give the people what they want, Sidewinder Music has captured the spirit of the metal era with Metal Mania Stripped Across America Live!

According to Executive Producer Jamie Talbot, “Being able to experience these artists with just an acoustic guitar, stripped down, without a wall of sound, was quite an experience for those lucky enough to take in a show. I believe we have captured live what these artists and songs truly represent nearly 20 years after the height of their success.

The tunes hold up and, more importantly, the artistry shines through in a way that has really never been portrayed.”

For a limited time, all online orders via www.metalmaniastripped.com will receive a limited edition design Metal Mania t-shirt from the Stripped Across America tour with the purchase of the DVD while supplies list.
