WOLFMOTHER HONORED TO RECEIVE GRAMMY AWARD:
February 13, 2007
Sydney’s Wolfmother are Australia’s happiest band today after becoming the first Aussie band in 25 years to win a Grammy Award.
Wolfmother’s ‘Woman’ beat out songs by Tool, System of a Down, Nine Inch Nails and Buckcherry to take home the ‘Best Hard Rock Performance’ category.
In a statement, the band says “A Grammy was the last thing on our minds today. We really thought that was reserved for the permanent residents of the U.S.A. We’re honoured and we’re overwhelmed. It’s enormous!”
The last Australian band to win a Grammy Award was Men At Work 25 years ago.
