DIO-ERA BLACK SABBATH TOUR AS HEAVEN AND HELL:

March 7, 2007

Black Sabbath reunite (kinda) as Heaven And Hell with a new tour and single.

There’s no Ozzy and no Bill Ward but it might be as good as a Black Sabbath reunion as we can get. Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice are to play together for the first time in 15 years as Heaven & Hell (apparently since the original Black Sabbath line-up are only on ‘hiatus’).

Heaven And Hell are about to embark on an eleven date tour of Canada from March 11. The just-announced twenty US dates for April and May were inspired in part by the almost instant sell-out status of a one-off show at Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 30.

They’ll have new songs to play on the tour since the band recorded three new cuts for Rhino Records compilation ‘Black Sabbath: The Dio Years’, due out on April 3. They have released ‘The Devil Cried’ as a single. Otherwise, the shows will focus on the ‘Heaven And Hell’, ‘Mob Rules’ and ‘Dehumanizer’ albums.

The band will be supported by thrash legends Megadeth, previewing songs from their new album ‘United Abominations’, and Machine Head.
