AEROSMITH TO ROCK INDIA FOR THE FIRST TIME:

March 12, 2007

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Iconic rock band Aerosmith will perform in India’s financial and film hub of Mumbai, its first performance in the country, the group said on its official Website. The five-member band, with at least 14 albums to its credit and an envious career spanning over four decades, will hold the concert on June 2, according to www.aerosmith.com.

The Mumbai show is part of a wider tour by the band that will also see it travel through Europe and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Aerosmith released its first album in 1973 and has sung some of the most popular power anthems like “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” from the 1998 blockbuster film “Armageddon”, as well as “Dream On” and “Crazy”. The band, considered by some as America’s reply to the Rolling Stones, has a large following among urban middle-class Indians and its songs are regularly requested on the country’s music TV channels and radio stations.
