NIKKI SIXX WARNS STARLETS TO BELIEVE IN REHAB:

August 23, 2007

Motley Crue rocker Nikki Sixx has urged troubled Hollywood stars such as Lindsay Lohan to straighten themselves out, otherwise they risk becoming just another celebrity who died from partying too hard. The 48-year-old former heroin addict insists rehab only helps if the patient actually wants to change their lifestyle.

But Sixx insists a star such as Lohan, who is currently attending a treatment centre in Utah – her third stay in a rehab clinic this year – can turn her life around.

He says, “In ’85, I went through rehab and I wasn’t ready. If you’re not ready, you’re not ready. You don’t want to hear the truth and you’re gonna keep doing what you keep doing. There’s a really cold saying: ‘Some people have to die so the rest of us can live.’ And I was living my life like I was one of those people, and then it was only through not dying that I was like, ‘Wow, life is really amazing.’ Reflecting back, we all make mistakes, we all go through our stuff – relationships, financial, all kinds of stuff – and if you can grow from that and pass that message on it’s a pretty cool thing.”
