BON JOVI PLUGS FOOTBALL LEAGUE IN SHORT FILM:

January 7, 2004

NEW YORK (Billboard) – Jon Bon Jovi and football star John Elway will appear in a short film/commercial to promote the American Football League (AFL)’s 2004 season.

The two-minute promo film will be shown Jan. 9-29 in nearly 400 Regal Entertainment Group theaters nationwide, as well as in retail stores such as Champs Sports, Aaron’s Sales and Lease Ownership, Best Buy, Circuit City and Sears.

Bon Jovi is a co-owner of the AFL’s Philadelphia Soul, and Elway co-owns AFL team Colorado Crush. In the commercial, Elway goes to Bon Jovi’s house to welcome him to the AFL and the meeting ends with a showdown between their rival teams inside the house. When the Colorado Crush’s quarterback is injured, Elway takes matters into his own hands.

Next up in Bon Jovi’s acting career will be his co-starring role in the Universal Pictures thriller “Living the Lie,” due out later this year.
