ANOTHER ALICE COOPERS’TOWN ON THE MENU FOR THE VALLEY:
January 12, 2004
Valley rocker Alice Cooper is looking to expand his “rock-meets-jock” restaurant concept.
Business partner Brian Weymouth told The Phoenix Business Journal Monday that a new Alice Coopers’town restaurant will open somewhere in the Valley by the end of this year.
“We’re considering the West Side (of the Valley), Chandler, North Scottsdale, Mesa — we really haven’t ruled out any community in the Valley,” said Weymouth.
Weymouth said he has been talking with Glendale Arena developer Steve Ellman about a new restaurant site near the arena, and he’s also looked closely at a site near the Peoria Sports Complex, along 83rd Avenue, south of Bell Road. Other specific locations were not revealed.
With signs of an improving economy, Weymouth said now is the time to grow the Alice Coopers’town concept. “We would (also) consider licensing the concept, not only outside of Arizona like we did with Main Street and Main in Cleveland, but we would also do it here in the Phoenix market to the right operator.”
The original Alice Coopers’town across from America West Arena in downtown Phoenix celebrates its fifth anniversary next month.
