January 24, 2004
GUITAR COMPANIES JOIN FORCES TO BENEFIT ST. JUDES CHILDRENS RESEARCH HOSPITAL
Burbank, CA (January 24, 2004) – Guitars4kids, a not-for-profit fundraising entity to benefit The St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, has recently launched at the 2004 N.A.M.M. Show in Anaheim, California.
Guitars4kids is founded by Michael Ciravolo, President of Schecter Guitar Research and Tish Ciravolo, President of Daisy Rock Guitars. This dynamic couple formed the Guitars4Kids charity to raise money for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital based in Memphis, TN. “Seeing the St. Jude’s TV commercial on Christmas Day and looking at our two healthy daughters opening presents, we felt we wanted to do something,” states Michael Ciravolo. “I lost my sister to cancer seven days after Christmas and we knew we had to do something to help”.
Guitars4Kids will host many Ebay auctions, throughout the year, in an effort to raise $25,000.00 for the hospital. “So many guitar companies came forward at N.A.M.M. to help us with signed guitars by their endorses,” explains Ciravolo. “Fender Guitars, Jackson Guitars, Washburn Guitars, Peavey and ESP Guitars, to name a few, has joined us in our mission. It was great to see everyone put aside the normal ‘competition’ to help a very important cause.”
The charity’s first auction was held at a recent N.A.M.M. concert at the House of Blues, hosted by Schecter, Alfred Publishing, TonePros and Line-6. A Schecter guitar, signed by the band SEETHER raised $2,500.00.
To find out about upcoming auctions, with guitars signed by The Cure, Motley Crue, Pink, Dimebag Darrell and Zakk Wylde, just to name a few, visit www.Guitars4Kids.com and sign up for email notifications. 100% of all money raised will go directly to St. Jude!!! (www.Stjude.org).
