BON JOVI TAKES ‘CENTER STAGE’:

October 19, 2004

Bon Jovi will be the first act showcased on the new concert series, “INHD’s Center Stage,” a partnership between Samsung Electronics America and the cable industry’s OnlyCableCan marketing initiative. The show will air live Nov. 21 from the Borgata in Atlantic City, N.J., on the high-definition cable network INHD and its spinoff INHD2. It will also be cybercast on Samsung’s Web site.

According to INHD parent In Demand Networks, INHD and INHD2’s potential reach is about 45 million U.S. customers on such cable systems as Adelphia, Cablevision and Time Warner. About 1.5 million of those customers currently have the INHD networks, which is available to high-definition TV owners. To help promote the series, Samsung is offering a $200 gift card to consumers who buy a Samsung HD TV and sign up for digital cable.

The Atlantic City concert ties in with the Nov. 16 release of the four-CD/one-DVD Bon Jovi boxed set, “100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong.” In a terse posting on the band’s official Web site, fans are requested to refrain from calling the venue to inquire about ticket information, which the site says it will make public next week.

Bon Jovi is also confirmed for a Nov. 23 appearance on NBC’s “The Today Show” as part of the program’s Thanksgiving week concerts.
