Nikki Sixx Hosts Ozzfest Announcement
Nikki Sixx Hosts Ozzfest Announcement
May 4, 2010
Nikki Sixx, international rock icon and host of the nationally syndicated radio programs Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx and The Side Show Countdown with Nikki Sixx, hosted Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ozzy Osbourne’s highly-anticipated announcement of the OZZFest 2010 tour dates and lineup – which includes Sixx’s band Motley Crue as co-headliner (Sixx had been teasing his faithful following on twitter for days http://twitter.com/nikkisixx). The announcement took place in the Sixx Sense radio studio in Los Angeles on Friday, April 30th with Osbourne, Sixx and Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford on hand to roll out the details.
Osbourne revealed that this summer’s OZZFest will play six American cities in August with Ozzy and Motley Crue co-headlining and Rob Halford, DevilDriver and Nonpoint rounding out the main stage line-up. Second stage headliners and six-time OZZFest veterans Black Label Society will be joined by Drowning Pool, Kingdom of Sorrow, and Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Saviours and Kataklysm.
Osbourne also discussed his new album Scream, which is scheduled for release on June 15; his first single “Let Me Hear You Scream,” which is already ranked top five on the mainstream rock chart and top 10 on the active rock chart; and his upcoming world tour.
On hosting the announcement in his radio studio, Sixx said, “It’s cool to have friends want to come to Sixx Sense to talk about big things they have going on — Ozzy announcing OZZFest, Buckcherry premiering their new single, Slash and Drowning Pool talking about their new records track by track, I love having the vehicle to get together and talk about these things. And, when Ozzy calls and asks you to go on tour, you say ‘when do I start?’ We couldn’t be happier than to be co-headlining OZZFest with him this summer — 25 years after Ozzy took Motley Crue on what some say, was one of the greatest tours in rock history.”
Exclusive video of the announcement is available on www.SixxSense.com, and has attracted more than 75,000 views from the time it was posted Friday evening. To date, www.SixxSense.com, which serves as an online extension of the radio programs and features additional audio content, “deeper” interviews, photos, and more, has received more than 4.6 million page views since its launch in February 2010.
