Nikki Sixx Proposes To Girlfriend Courtney Bingham
November 26, 2012
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is engaged after proposing to girlfriend Courtney Bingham over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Sixx broke the news on Facebook by saying, “When Courtney and I were in St Bart’s I popped the question and she said YES… We would like to thank everybody who has been tweeting and posting online us congratulations… Both of us and our families are beyond happy.”
This will be the third marriage for Sixx. He has three children with Brandi Brandt and one more with Donna D’errico, both ex-wives and former Playboy Playmates. Sixx and Bingham have been dating since November of 2010, shortly after his breakup with tattoo artist Kat Von D.
In October Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler told Sixx that Bingham was away better choice than ex-girlfriend Kat Von D on the bassist’s Sixx Sense radio show. During the interview, Tyler likened Nikki’s relationship improvement to a recent hike the pals took up a volcano in Hawaii. In the metaphor, Kat would be the bottom of the hill and Courtney would be the top.
Not everyone is a Bingham fan however. In September Von D and Nikki’s fiance had a run-in at the iHeart music festival that escalated into a nasty VIP section brawl. The drama started when Courtney showed up to iHeart and went to see Kat’s boyfriend Deadmau5 spin at the XS after party. “Kat threw a fit and blocked Courtney from the VIP,” an insider at the venue told Hollyscoop. Then Courtney was overheard telling people, “the nicest thing I can say about Kat is that all of her tattoos are spelled correctly!”
Earlier this week Sixx confirmed that he has been writing for a new Motley Crue album. “So glad we recorded the new Motley Crue track “Sex” and actually got it out in time for the last tour for you to hear live,” Sixx stated. ” Obviously there is much more to come (as always). Mick Mars told me he has so many riffs ready to go too… But “Sex” was just a taste of some ‘New Crue’. I’ve personally been writing my ass off for months now. Feeling really inspired to follow it up with the rest of the songs from the band too.”
