NORWAY’S HARDLINE RETURN WITH VIDEO FOR “SHOWDOWN”

May 5, 2009

Hardline from Norway is back with a brand new video “Showdown”. More Hardline music can be heard at www.myspace.com/hardlineofnorway.

In 1983 the speedrocking trio Lipservice consisting of Svein Grostad guitar, Odd Ellingsen drums and Egil Troa bass, included singer Borge Pedersen and changed to Hardline. A demo recorded at Nidaros Studios resulted in a record deal with the swedish label Intersound. The self titled debut album was released in spring 1984 and was soon to be re-issued on Mausoleum Records. Hardline soon became a live attraction and tourned intensively.

In 1993 Borge Pedersen, Svein Grostad and Egil Troa tourned England as Valhalla including a gig at Marquee club. They split up after some time while Svein Grostad carried on Valhalla with a new line-up who released their album “Rush” in 1995. After hearing the album Ritchie Blackmore refused to let the band open a Rainbow gig in Oslo with the message; “the band is too good”.

After some occasional reunions during the 1990’s and 2000’s, Hardline is back! New bassplayer is Jomar Johansen while the rest of the line-up has remained original. The band has already received great enthusiasm for their live performances and are currently working on new material.
