Original Bang Tango Guitarist Mark Knight Premieres Video For “Lies”
January 24, 2013
Los Angeles based rock band Mark Knight And The Unsung Heroes have announced the release of the first video from ‘Road Sick Eyes’, the band’s new studio album set for release in spring 2013. The video for “Lies” was directed by Drew Fortier and includes footage shot during the band’s recent mini-tour of Kentucky, Tennessee and other Southern states. The video also includes scenes of the band recording ‘Road Sick Eyes’ in an L.A. studio.
Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Mark Knight is an L.A. native who began performing professionally when he was only 16. In 1987, Knight founded the hard rock band Bang Tango, whose debut album for MCA Records, ‘Psycho Cafe’, garnered worldwide attention after the video for the single “Someone Like You” was placed into heavy rotation on MTV in 1989.
Members of The Unsung Heroes are guitarist Mark Tremalgia, drummer Tigg Ketler, and bassist Reeve Downes. Ex-Bang Tango member Tremalgia has collaborated with Knight on many projects, including their stint in the Southern rock-influenced band Worry Beads. Ketler is also a former member of Bang Tango while Reeves is also the bassist for the California based rock band Rhino Bucket.
Director Drew Fortier is currently wrapping up the film ‘Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie’, which is not only a Bang Tango song but is a theme in the film. Fortier tells SleazeRoxx.com, “To name a few, we have amazing interviews (shot by Anu Gunn) with Howard Benson (producer of ‘Psycho Cafe’ and ‘Love After Death’), Riki Rachtman (MTV Headbangers Ball host), Chris DeMakes (Less Than Jake), Alex Grossi (Quiet Riot) and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley), with many many others being set up. Also I wil be cutting together one more ultimate trailer for the film featuring many of these great interviews. As for the release date, it will be this year — which is technically the 25th anniversary of the formation of the band.”

“As for the ‘Love After Death’ album, which is the final Bang Tango record with the original line-up, only released overseas in 1994…” continues Fortier, “with how much of a big part this album will have in the Attack of Life film, I will be bringing one of the songs from this unreleased record to life in the form of an official music video. This will mark the first time a track from this album will officially be available in the U.S. The song is “My Favorite 9″, Which is a track that is still as relevant today as it was in 1993. You will see why once the video is complete in about a month.”
