Ozzy Osbourne Visits Ohio Family – More Info
OZZY OSBOURNE VISITS OHIO FAMILY – MORE INFO:
November 18, 2008
Ashley Phillips of the Chillicothe Gazette reports that the rumors you heard were correct – rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and his family made a stop in Chillicothe last weekend.
The famed British singer – more famous for his reality TV appearances and commercials these days – visited Joe Osborne, of Ray, as part of a new variety show, “The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous.”
A segment on the show will feature the Osbournes traveling to meet families with the same last name, even if it is spelled differently. The local Osborne said producers from the Osbourne show contacted him after they gathered his information from a bull-riding association.
Saturday morning, the Osbournes – Ozzy, wife, Sharon, daughter, Kelly, and son, Jack – headed out to Joe’s farm for the day.
“They were so down to earth to hang out with,” he said. “They were really interested in learning about things on our farm.”
Both families did some farm work and “mud running,” and Joe fixed lunch for the family – which consisted of deer and squirrel meat. Ozzy and Jack were up for the change in diet, but Sharon and Kelly were not that excited about their meals.
“I commend them for trying something new. It shows that they are really ordinary people,” Joe said.
At the end of the day, the Osbournes headed to the rodeo with the Osbornes. While there, Joe demonstrated his bull riding skills for the family and impressed them.
“The next thing I know, Jack is on one of the bulls riding it. He did good for a while until he got tossed off,” he said.
Learning about the famous Osbourne family, Joe said, was one of the best parts of the visit.
“A lot of people have the wrong idea about them. They were so polite and were interested in my family as well,” he said.
The new series will mix musical performances, comedy sketches and game-show competitions with the Osbournes’ unique blend of humor and outrageous sensibility. Another segment was filmed last month in South Dakota.
The Osbournes, who pioneered the modern-day family-centric reality series with their hit show, “The Osbournes,” stayed at a Chillicothe hotel, and Kelly apparently took in a little karaoke at Patrick’s Pub during the weekend as well.
The episode with Joe and his family should air in February on Fox.
“This was really the experience of a lifetime, and I will always remember it,” he said.
