Paradise Alley Reunite To Record New Album And Raid The Vaults
August 1, 2013
Ten years since the five band members last played on stage together as special guests to Hanoi Rocks, Steve Vincent (lead vocals/harmonica), Kenny Reid (guitars), Mark Perry-Harkin (bass), Taj Sagoo (guitars) and Steve Thompson (drums) have reconvened under the Paradise Alley name. Although an open secret to those close to the band for some time, the band wanted to make sure that everything was in place before they made this announcement.
Special edition releases of the band’s first two albums, ‘Psychotic Playground’ and ‘Heartbreakers & Homewreckers’, along with some never before released songs from the vaults, are planned on the band’s own imprint Bombshell Records, along with an all new album.
The seeds for this coming together were the combination of the sad passing of founding member Richie Hale at the start of 2012, and a late night drinking session between Vincent and Jyrki 69. Although the band members had often joked about it, they all knew, now was the time.
Originally formed in London in the Summer of ’92, Paradise Alley are a rock’n’roll band crawling from the streets of Soho in the vein of The Rolling Stones, New York Dolls, Hanoi Rocks and Dogs D’amour. Over seven years, two albums, countless tours, headline slots at the Marquee and CBGBs, the band briefly changed their name to Neon Bomb and continued to blaze a trail through the London rock scene. Then came the guest slot with Hanoi Rocks in 2002 and that chapter came to a close.
But is that how the story should end? Of course not, so one of London’s most notorious rock’n’roll bands are back in action. The band are doing this purely for fun, there is no great plan to take over the world, this is just about hanging out, playing great rock’n’roll and playing some amazing shows.
