Planet Rock Wins Three Sony Radio Academy Awards

PLANET ROCK WINS THREE SONY RADIO ACADEMY AWARDS:

DAB digital radio station, Planet Rock hit a hat trick of Gold, Silver and Bronze at the Sony Radio Academy Awards ceremony in London on Monday night.

Planet Rock won a Gold award for ‘UK Digital Station of the Year’; the second time the station has won this accolade. The judges picked the station for its extraordinary passion, knowledge, surprise and depth.

A Silver award was presented to former Marillion front man Fish for his show ‘Fish on Friday’ in the Music Broadcaster of the Year category.

Planet Rock won a Bronze award for the new Multiplatform category for Led Zeppelin month which ran over the month of November, 2007.

Planet Rock is the UK’s classic rock station and is the home of Alice Cooper’s breakfast show ‘Breakfast with Alice’ and Rick Wakeman’s ‘Rick’s Place’ is currently up for sale by its parent company GCap Media plc and its future still remains uncertain.
