Prophets Of Addiction frontman Lesli Sanders got a terrible surprise while his band played an “unplugged” gig at the Jacky Boy Publik House in Cranston, Rhode Island, USA on August 10, 2017 as part of the group’s 2017 East Coast “Unplugged” Acoustic Tour.
The following message was posted on Sanders‘ Facebook page yesterday:
“Normally I get to post about how great a place is to play, how nice the staff was and accommodating, how much fun it is to do what I do and how I cant wait to come back.
As you all know I have been touring around the world for many years now, and I have never experienced what I did tonight especially from a place that I have played in the past so they were familiar with what I do and was invited back to do it once again this tour.
As we began our third song at Jacky Boy Publik House in Cranston, Rhode Island, the owner approached me and said to stop playing, I figured there was some sort of emergency and immediately obliged. Well to my dismay she was yelling “do you know how much money you cost me” and claiming our opening act forced people to leave, and that we suck and there is no way we are on a tour right now. Basically get our stuff get out and she is not paying us and we are just “not the right band for that place” (Although she is the one that booked us),….I could go on and on but that is the short version of it.
Moral to the story do NOT ever book a performance at this place, of the thousands of places I have performed at over the years I have NEVER been treated so unfairly, rude and insulted by the owner.
I do appreciate all the people that did show up and hope to see you soon.
