Prophets Of Addiction’s west coast tour becomes unplugged tour due to drummer falling deathly ill

Bad news for Prophets Of Addiction with their drummer Wayne Stokely being forced to bow out of the sleaze rockers’ west coast tour but the show must go on as the rest of the group members are forging ahead with their tour plans but now in an unplugged format. Prophets Of Addiction‘s “Take Me To Your Leader” 2017 West Coast Tour consists of 15 shows starting at Wally’s House of Booze at Wenatchee, Washington, USA on May 26, 2017 and ending at Jazzbones in Tacoma, Washington, USA on June 17, 2017.

The following message was posted on Prophets Of Addiction‘s Facebook page yesterday:

Have some bad news regarding the upcoming Prophets of Addiction West Coast Tour. Our drummer Wayne Stokely (will attach his statement below) has fallen deathly ill and will not be able to do the tour and our condolences go out to him him and wish him speedy recovery. However the show must go on and myself and G.G. Glenn Gilbert will be doing the shows in the “UNPLUGGED” format, which is actually very cool.

So far most venues have been cool with it However there has been at least one cancellation so far.

I am trying to figure this all out and will have an updated listing ASAP.

THANKS

Letter from Wayne:

“Went to Dr and had some x rays and an MRI done. Also had throat examined. First the throat and pneumonia that hasn’t went away since dec. They need to go in and get rid of the swollen tissue that’s harboring the bacteria and then let the fluid in my lungs drain out. That’s what’s making it hard to breathe and can lead to heart issues and death if not nipped out. As far as the neck goes one muscle is torn and two ligaments badly damaged. They have to operate and take out all the dead cartilage and basically fuse everything back together. Recovery time and rehab is 6 to 8 weeks and if all goes well I should be back to 75 percent but may never reach 100 again.”
