Queensrÿche release video for track “Hellfire”

Seattle rockers Queensrÿche have released a video for their song “Hellfire” from their latest studio album Condition Hüman, which was released back on October 2, 2015.

The following message was posted on Queensrÿche‘s Facebook page today about the video that spotlights the Malaysian passenger flight crisis in 2014: “Speaking about the influence and subject matter for the clip, QUEENSRŸCHE vocalist Todd La Torre said: “‘Hellfire’ is a depiction primarily based on the tragic events surrounding the Malaysian airline flight MH17. queensryche-photoDespite the storyline’s foundation, the lyrical and visual narrative transcends into other pertinent, global subject matters. Civil unrest, guerrilla warfare, media propaganda, and social inequalities are just some examples of the multifaceted issues marbled throughout ‘Hellfire’. A poignant illustration of an unfortunate yet timeless reality.”

Condition Hüman ended up #7 on Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2015 to which Sleaze Roxx stated: “When a group has fourteen studio albums under its belt, has been around for thirty plus years and has recently replaced its long-time lead vocalist, one might expect and accept that this band will never be able to recapture the magic of its glory days. This definitely does not apply to Queensrÿche who have produced one of the best albums of their career, if not the best, with their latest studio album Condition Hüman. While it is debatable whether Queensrÿche have come up with their best album ever with Condition Hüman, it is the group’s best since Empire. Two key ingredients are the return to that vintage Queensrÿche, which the group simply could not recapture with Geoff Tate in the fold, and the amazing vocal pipes of new lead vocalist Todd LaTorre who has injected new life into the band.”

Condition Hüman also landed the #10 spot on the Sleaze Roxx Readers’ Top 20 Albums of 2015.

Sleaze Roxx stated the following in its review of Condition Hüman: “Five years ago, Ratt proved with Infestation that they could revisit their glory days and deliver a record that would have likely garnered them multi-platinum success had it been released back in the late ’80s. It is now Queensrÿche‘s turn to deliver an album that revisits their pinnacle era and would have likely brought them multi-platinum success back in the late ’80s / early ’90s. It seems unlikely that Condition Hüman will be able to reach the coveted multi-platinum level in this musical climate of downloading and file sharing but one thing is for certain, Queensrÿche have delivered one of their best albums in their storied musical career with Condition Hüman.”
