Quiet Riot to release new music tentatively in 2022 featuring Frankie Banali’s drum tracks
Quiet Riot continue to defy the traditional expectations of what might happen to a group without any of its classic line-up members. The group’s classic line-up consisted of Kevin DuBrow on lead vocals, Frankie Banali on drums, Rudy Sarzo on bass and Carlos Cavazo on guitar but the first two classic line-up members respectively passed away on November 26, 2007 and August 20, 2020 while the other two have not played in the band since 2003. Since Banali‘s passing, Quiet Riot have elected to continue playing with the line-up consisting of Alex Grossi (guitar), Chuck Wright (bass), Jizzy Pearl (lead vocals) and Johnny Kelly (drums), and they are even planning on releasing new music featuring Banali‘s drum tracks.
The following message was posted in part on Grossi‘s Facebook page on May 25, 2021:
“Legendary hard rockers QUIET RIOT have announced a string of Summer/Fall tour dates, as well as a few for 2022.
The band announced earlier this year plans to release new music, which will feature Frankie Banali‘s drumtracks. The band has currently been working in the studio on the tracks for a tentative 2022 release.
QUIET RIOT‘S current line-up includes veteran bassist Chuck Wright, longtime guitarist Alex Grossi, vocalist Jizzy Pearl and former Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly.”
