Ratt problem? — Stephen Pearcy reveals looks like band not recording any new music anytime soon

It seems that there are conflicting messages emanating from the Ratt camp. Just nine days after announcing that Ratt would be ready to go with a new rhythm guitarist and new music in 2021, the band’s frontman has announced that it looks like Ratt will not be recording any new music anytime soon.

The following message was posted on Pearcy‘s Facebook page earlier today (with slight edits):

Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy will entertain doing solo shows 2021. With a new solo record due to start recording early next year. Looks like Ratt will not be recording any new music anytime soon. Pearcy says; “Anything I write I think of Ratt first and did when went in for “View”, or try and offer it up, nothing there I move forward. Hence the next (6th) solo record with Erik Ferentinos and Matt Thorne. “When we go into the studio we’re prepared, we don’t f#+k around, we go for the throat, next”. More news tba #rattproblem

Ratt‘s last two studio album Infestation dates back to 2010 with the prior one, Ratt, going back all the way to 1999. Infestation finished at #1 on the Sleaze Roxx Readers’ Top 20 Albums of 2010, #2 on the Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2010 and #9 on the Sleaze Roxx’s Top 12 Albums of The Decade (2010-2019).

On the other hand, Pearcy has released the following solo albums to date: Social Intercourse (2002), Fueler (2004), Under My Skin (2008), Smash (2017) and View To A Thrill (2018).
