Review:
After spinning Wig Wam‘s latest CD a fistful of times, and lapping up the sticky sweet goodness of this high fructose corn syrup drenched piece of ear candy, I dug a little deeper than my impression — which as you should glean was sweeeeet — and was shocked to discover haters of Non Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll! I know, strange huh? I mean sure, this is certainly a lot more commercial than previous efforts like 667 or Wig Wamania, with what some would call ‘filler’, but is that bad? The album absolutely destroys 98% of all the other so called music coming out of the good ole USA, or any other continent for that matter, over the past 10 years. If these cool cats keep churning out such sweet little goodies like this, I sure as hell will be spending a ton of time getting cavities filled.

Let me say that if you are not at all familiar with this quite impressive quartet of Norwegians then you need to know this band! Take all your favorite ’80s hard rock/hair metal bands and give them that TigertailzBerzerk layered, over-the-top production that they deserve(d) and you will begin to understand. If bands like McAuley Schenker Group, Scorpions, TNT, Giant and newer acts like Crashdiet and Crazy Lixx make your nethers tingle then Wig Wam will have you repainting the bathroom after the first blazing lead riff of “Do You Wanna Taste It”, and you won’t be able to control yourself through such knee-weakening tracks as “Wild One”, the title track “Non Stop Rock’N Roll” and “Chasing Rainbows” (which has one of my new favorite solos of all time in it).

Seriously, Wig Wam is a force to be reckoned with. They look cool as shit, they sound stellar with harmonies from heaven (or hell), soaring Klaus Meine-ish lead vocals from Age Sten Nilsen (aka Glam), guitar prowess (and I mean riffs and rhythms that are just stupefying) from Trond ‘Teeny’ Holter and the glue that holds the whole bottom end together performed impeccably by bassist Bernt ‘Flash’ Jansen and drummer Oystein ‘Sporty’ Andersen.

In a nutshell get this disc, pop the T-tops on your Trans Am and crank this bastard to 11! Cruise, cruise, cruise ’til the sun sets and then retire to the riverside bonfire for more pop top libations, muscle shirts, tight pants, big hair, spandex, leather mini-skirts and good ole down home ’80s fueled rock – just like Non Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll by Wig Wam.
