Richie Sambora Pays Tribute To 9/11 Heroes On “Engine 19”

In honor of the victims’, families, and heroes of 9/11, Richie Sambora got together with songwriter and friend Bernie Taupin to write and record “Engine 19”, a song dedicated to the first responders that keep us safe around the country. The (former) Bon Jovi guitarist is honored to release this tribute to their hard work and dedication.
Richie Sambora dropped out of the current leg of Bon Jovi’s tour in early April because of “personal issues”. “Thank you everyone for your concern,” Sambora said at the time. “I’m well, but had to stay in LA to take care of a personal matter. Love you all and see you very soon.”
Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing unnamed sources connected to the band, said Sambora’s absence was due to long-running tension between the guitarist and singer Jon Bon Jovi. “It’s a classic Jagger/Richards blowup,” said one source, who also added that part of the problem is that Jon Bon Jovi constantly belittles Richie and the duo are fighting over money.
Rumors that Sambora has in fact been fired from the band remain unconfirmed.
