Ricky Warwick declares there’s no chance that The Almighty will come back and record new songs

Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy and The Almighty frontman Ricky Warwick was recently interviewed by Marcelo Vieira for Marcelo Vieira Music.

Vieira noted that The Almighty enjoyed ten top 40 singles and four top 20 albums in the UK but the band never broke equally in America. In terms of why that turned out that way, Warwick opined (as translated from Portuguese to English by Marcelo Vieira Music with slight edits): “I don’t know. A little bad luck and quite a few record company problems just conspired against it, just didn’t seem to happen for us. I think that’s really why.”

On whether there are any chances that The Almighty will come back and record new songs, Warwick bluntly replied, “No.” When pushed on whether there was any chance at all, Warwick added: “No, no thank you [laughs]! Everybody has moved forward. I love The Almighty and I love everything that we stood for. I’m very, very proud for once being in a band that I love talking about. I still play The Almighty songs when I play my solo shows but everybody has moved forward and everybody is happy now with what they are doing and we don’t feel that we have to get back together.”
