Sammy Hagar Recruites Friends For New Album And Launches Music Video

On August 1st Sammy Hagar kicked off a week of premieres for “Knockdown Dragout”, the anthemic lead track from his highly-anticipated upcoming rock collaboration album ‘Sammy Hagar And Friends’, with a high-octane performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Following on the heels of his debut TV performance of the track, on Monday the former Van Halen and Montrose frontman released the single’s official promo video his official YouTube channel.
The single features a duet with Kid Rock and an appearance by Joe Satriani and heralds the release of the album on September 24th in North America, September 27th in Europe and September 29th in the UK through Frontiers Records. ‘Sammy Hagar And Friends’ is a ten song collection that includes performances by Kid Rock, Neal Schon (Santana, Journey, HSAS), Joe Satriani, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Michael Anthony (ex-Van Halen, Chickenfoot), Taj Mahal, Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn), Toby Keith, Nancy Wilson (Heart), Bill Church and Denny Carmassi (Montrose), The Wabos and many more.
In addition to the 10-track standard edition album, fans will also have an opportunity to purchase a deluxe edition of ‘Sammy Hagar And Friends’, packaged in a high-gloss digipak. The deluxe CD/DVD package includes an exclusive bonus audio track, “Space Station #5”, featuring the reunion of the original first Montrose album line-up with very special guest Joe Satriani. Sammy Hagar is celebrating the release of the album and his forty years in music with his ‘Four Decades of Rock’ tour, presented by Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum. The tour kicked off on July 26th in Tucson, Arizona and will touch down in 13 more cities through September.
