Santa Cruz Debut “Nothing Compares To You” Video
September 2, 2013
Santa Cruz have released a video for the song “Nothing Compares To You”, the Finnish rockers’ third video from their latest album ‘Screaming For Adrenaline’.
‘Screaming For Adrenaline’ was released through Spinefarm Records on April 26th in Europe, April 30th in America and May 6th in the UK. Sleaze Roxx praised the album by saying, “This is hands down a hard rock album that fans of the late ’80s and early ’90s era will strongly enjoy. With a push by Spinefarm Records, and a distribution deal with Universal Music, Santa Cruz may be the next hard rock act to gain recognition alongside other sleaze heavyweights like Hardcore Superstar and Crashdiet.”
Reared on a hefty diet of ’80s glam rock Americana, a la Guns N’ Roses, Santa Cruz are a rock ‘n’ roll sensation, who, despite their very young age have hosted numerous rock clubs on their own in their native Hellsinki Rock City, scoring hordes of stark-raving-mad fans and reaping attention and endorsements from peers and media alike. The German rock magazine Stalker even recommends to their readers that they plan their Finnish vacations around Santa Cruz’s tour dates.
Whereas contemplating suicide in a snowdrift, drunk out of one’s skull, comes naturally for the inherently dark and brooding Finns, something as sunny, positive and unlawfully hot as Santa Cruz shouldn’t even be possible on these semi-Arctic ice-ridden shores! It’s just that tracks like “High On You” with its shimmering harmonies, rabidly energetic “Let’s Get The Party Started” and “Aiming High” which probably possesses the sickest guitar riff in Finnish rock and metal this side of 1986, will prove to you the Santa Cruz brand of rock ‘n’ roll works like an intravenous shot of summer, sun and spandex. The top-notch songwriting and guitar chops from hell will leave your jaws ajar and with Archie’s unbridled yelps, at times you’d be willing to bet your cojones that it’s the ghost of Bill Bailey singing — no small feat considering that Mr. Bailey is still very much alive. No wonder the Santa Cruz gigs are infamous of getting a wee bit unhinged at times!
