Santa Cruz’s upcoming third full-length album ‘Bad Blood Rising’ about depression
Helsinki, Finland based sleaze rockers Santa Cruz were recently featured on RollingStone as one of the “new artists you need to know.”
The RollingStone article indicates that Santa Cruz‘s third full-length studio album will be titled Bad Blood Rising and released in September 2017.
Santa Cruz frontman Archie Cruz talked about the new album with RollingStone as he stated: “…But this third album is about dealing with the issue of depression. Outsiders don’t see the side when you party hard for a few years, you [eventually] start to feel pretty down. That’s why I believe Jim Morrison died and Kurt Cobain shot himself. Chris Cornell fucking offed himself a month ago. When touring – that whole rock & roll lifestyle – half of the time you’re drinking or using other substances. When you live hard, it takes a toll on you. You can get pretty ill, and it needs to be addressed more. You just hear about the glorious side.”

Santa Cruz‘s debut full-length album Screaming For Adrenaline landed the #1 spot on Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2013. Sleaze Roxx stated in that regard: “In a year that saw new releases from sleaze heavyweights such as Crashdiet and Hardcore Superstar, who would ever have dreamt that a fresh young band from Finland would trump them both? Santa Cruz did the unthinkable, smashing their way to top spot with their hard-hitting full-length debut ‘Screaming For Adrenaline’. With equal parts Skid Row metal mastery and Spread Eagle sleaze, Santa Cruz caught the eye of Spinefarm Records and the ear of every hard rock fan that longs for the return of flowing hair, leather pants and endless alcohol filled nights.”
