Sarasin Poised To Release Self-Titled Debut
Sarasin Poised To Release Self-Titled Debut
April 3, 2015
Originating from Hamilton, Ontario, Sarasin started touring the Canadian bar circuit back in the ’80s, but found themselves running out of places to play by the mid ’90s with the changing musical scenery and the advent of grunge. About thirty years later, Sarasin are poised to finally release their self-titled debut album in mid-April.
Sarasin’s independently released debut is scheduled to be available for purchase on the band’s website (www.sarasin.ca), iTunes and CD Baby starting this April, and the band will be playing some shows in Canada beginning in May.
Sarasin states, “If you are a classic Heavy Metal listener, and have Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest in your record collection, it makes sense to give the new Sarasin CD a listen. We haven’t tried to re-invent the wheel, but we take great pride in paying homage to our Heavy Metal Gods with 9 songs that fit right into the genre without sounding plagiaristic. We have tried to capture the classic metal mystique while keeping it fresh sounding, and not dated. These songs were written at lightning speed and recorded in a shoestring budget, but regardless, we got exactly what we wanted, and had a blast doing it! Sarasin has been around longer than we care to admit (lol), and this has afforded us the luxury if playing every shithole in North America.”
The band, currently consisting of lead vocalist Mike Wilson, drummer Roger Banks, guitarist Greg Boileau and bassist Roy Belisle, now have their sights on touring Europe and Asia.
