Scarlet Violet Releases ‘Roll The Dice’ EP
December 8, 2010
Scarlet Violet presents ‘Roll The Dice’, a four-track EP conceived as a mini album, available for purchase at sliptrick.bigcartel.com/product/scarlet-violet-roll-the-dice-ep.
Apart from featuring two brand-new singles, the title track and “Kill Me”, the EP also includes “It’s Over” and “Drunk On Elm Street” (taken from the ‘Drunk On Elm Street’ EP, mixed and mastered by 80’s sound-guru Beau Hill), previously only available online and solely downloadable in MP3 format.
‘Roll The Dice’ shows us how the style of the band has become harder, morphing from the sound of the more glam-oriented ‘Animated Freaks’ album into a mixture of in-your-face metal and melody-friendly punk rock.
To achieve its objective, the band chose to collaborate with King Diamond’s guitarist/producer Andy LaRocque, who mixed and mastered the two new songs, enhancing them with power and clarity.
Scarlet Violet’s new, four song, mini album, can be considered as an appetizer — just enough to give the listener a taste of where the band is going musically, while waiting for their next full-length to be released.
