Scott Dalhover hinting at side project with leftover songs from 40+ written for Dangerous Toys’ new album
Dangerous Toys guitarist Scott Dalhover has seemingly been very busy writing songs for the band’s new album given that he publicly announced today having written more than 40 songs in that regard. Dalhover might be following the lead from his Dangerous Toys bandmate and guitarist Paul Lidel who recently released an EP with his new band 99 Crimes.
The following message was posted on Dalhover‘s Facebook page earlier today:
Well..
I’ve written 40+ tunes for the new D.T. album.
Time to decide what to do with the remainder.
Hmmmmmm..
Maybe a new project and recording..”
Back in November 2015, Sleaze Roxx interviewed Dalhover and asked him whether there had been any thoughts on Dangerous Toys coming up with a new album. Dalhover replied: “Yeah, I’ve got backlogs of material. It’s just trying to get everybody together. Everybody has so much stuff that they are involved in. So it’s just trying to get everybody on the same page. To get me, Mike [Watson], Mark [Geary], Jason [McMaster] and Paul [Lidel] all in the same place, it takes a bit of effort sometimes. Not really but you know, I’ve got my guitar company going. Everybody has got something going. You know, we all make time for Dangerous Toys regardless but… Mark, Mike and I, as a matter of fact, got together, jammed and threw down some ideas so you never know!”
When asked whether there had been any concrete talks on doing a new album, Dalhover stated: “A little [laughs].” Dalhover continued: “I don’t want to say “yeah, yeah” or “no.” It might happen. I can see a five song EP or something happening really easy versus ten or eleven [songs]. That might be what we’d shoot for. You never know though. Once we get rolling, it’s hard to stop us. We’ll knock out an album.”
