Scott Griffin advises that he’ll be playing lead guitar with Steve Riley’s L.A. Guns at M3 Rock Festival

Former L.A. Guns bassist Scott Griffin has confirmed with Aaron Small at Bravewords that he’ll be playing lead guitar with drummer Steve Riley‘s version of L.A. Guns at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland, USA in early May 2019, which also includes bassist Kelly Nickels.

Griffin stated to Bravewords: “Since Kelly got on board, Steve asked if I wanted to take the lead guitar gig. I was kinda blown away! But I played guitar for years before bass, and Steve’s heard me play, so he believes I can do it. I’m just learning all the big songs right now that I’m almost positive will be in the set. I want to rehearse as much as possible. There are certain songs that always have to be there. But if there’s time to add some extra songs, I’d love if we could include a song from Hollywood Forever, the album I’m on. And as a fan, I’m really hoping Kelly wants to sing ‘Nothing Better To Do’!”

Griffin had two stints as a bassist in L.A. Guns (2007 to 2009 and 2011 to 2014) and his last departure seemed rather sudden given that the band was on tour when that happened and had just performed in Los Angeles, California the previous night.
