Screaming Eagles have released a video for their first single “Rock N Roll Soul”, a track from their debut album ‘From The Flames’ – available for purchase at screamingeagles.bigcartel.com/.
The Irish rockers have been ripping up a storm since their debut album was released earlier this year. The band recently won ‘Highway To Hell 4’, a UK wide battle of the bands competition held in Glasgow and run by the people behind Hard Rock Hell. As a result the band will be opening the main stage at Hard Rock Hell in Wales on November 29th and sharing the bill with Airbourne, Black Star Riders and The Answer. Screaming Eagles are also confirmed for Giants of Rock 2014 in Somerset in February 2014 alongside Uriah Heep, Sweet and Hawkwind as well as Hard Rock Hell Ibiza in May 2014. Having recently signed a management deal with Rock Artist Management, the band are currently organising further UK and European dates for 2014.
In a recent review of ‘From The Flames’ Sleaze Roxx stated, “Screaming Eagles are a new band from Northern Ireland that some people are comparing them to AC/DC, but their music is way too sophisticated for such a generalization. Sure they have a similar energy, but think more along the lines of Buckcherry sleaze, Little Caesar blues and Bad Company during their ’70s heyday. That recipe looks good on paper but it sounds even better spread across ten scorching hard rock tracks. The Answer may be the current kingpins when it comes to Irish hard rock, but I suggest they don’t look in their rear view mirrors because they’ve already been overtaken by a flock of Screaming Eagles.”
The band are also currently causing quite a stir in the UK with the Classic Rock Magazine editors and have featured on the covermount CD which accompanied the recent Summer edition (Black Sabbath cover) and are also on the covermount CD of the current edition of Classic Rock Presents AOR magazine. Of the track, “Rock N Roll Soul”, Classic Rock wrote: “Finally, here’s a defiant sounding cri de Coeur from these Northern Irish newcomers. “Rock N Roll Soul” is one of the stand-outs on the bands self-released debut ‘From The Flames’. Think AC/DC fronted by a Paul Rodgers-style vocalist and you’re somewhere in the neighbourhood”. Classic Rock Presents AOR continued, “Their debut LP — which plays rock’n’roll with blunt brilliance, topped off by the soulful vocals of frontman Chris Fry — is absolutely smokin’, hotter than hell, the work of a group burning up with fiery ambition”.
Since the release of their debut album Screaming Eagles have gained favorable support from around the world with reviews and exposure from magazines and radio in Canada, USA, Australia, Japan, Germany, France and Scandinavia. They are currently getting regular airplay on Team Rock Radio and Planet Rock radio in the UK (two of the leading UK rock stations). The album has been selling well around the world and the band has recently completed deals with major CD mail-order companies in Europe.
