Sebastian Bach Avoids Jail Time

SEBASTIAN BACH AVOIDS JAIL TIME:

Charges against rock singer Sebastian Bach (real name: Sebastian Bierk) that stemmed from a bar fracas will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for the next year. The former Broadway star and lead singer of Skid Row was granted a conditional discharge of terroristic threats and drug possession charges during a municipal court hearing Monday in Middletown, N.J.

The discharge is the municipal court equivalent of pretrial intervention, in which charges against a first-time offender are expunged from his record if he does not commit another crime.

Authorities said Bach was at the Lincroft Inn in March when he went outside with a drink. He became angry when a bartender told him he had to come back inside, police said. Bach, 33, told police who arrived at the restaurant that he was going to return to his Middletown home, get a gun, and shoot a bartender and others in the bar area, authorities said.

At police headquarters, Bach became verbally abusive when a detective attempted to explain the charges against him, and he continued to make threats against the bartender. Police said that when Bach was asked if he understood the charges, he replied: “Yeah, because I smoked a lot of weed.”

Bach has appeared on Broadway in “The Rocky Horror Show” and “Jekyll & Hyde.” Skid Row had top-10 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the late ’80s with “18 and Life” and “I Remember You.”
