Shokker part ways with drummer Ben Silverman

Chicago, Illinois, USA based Shokker have announced that they are parting ways with their drummer Ben Silverman.

The group made the following announcement on its Facebook page earlier today:

“The time has come to announce that we will be saying goodbye to our drummer, Ben Silverman. Ben has recently gotten married and has other career aspirations. We want to wish him the most success in his future endeavors. Come see his last two shows with Shokker on May 1st and 6th!”

Silverman‘s last two gigs with Shokker will be a benefit show for The Glen Dobbs Family Cancer Relief Benefit at the QBar in Glendale Heights, Illinois, USA on May 1, 2016 and at the Penny Road Pub at Barrington Heights, Illinois, USA on May 6, 2016.

Back in September 2015, Sleaze Roxx interviewed the Shokker band members. Guitarist Casey Tremont had stated the following about the group’s future plans: “..immediate plans include a full-length album release, Throw The Switch as we mentioned earlier. Our overall goal however, is to be successful in personal achievements as musicians.”

To date, Shokker have released a self-titled three song EP, which was released back in July 2015. Sleaze Roxx stated the following in its review of the Shokker EP: “Shokker play old school heavy metal reminiscent of the early ’80s but combine it with guitar shredding that is more synonymous with the late ’80s. It proves to be an interesting combination.” Sleaze Roxx concluded its review by stating: “Given that there are only three songs on Shokker‘s self-titled debut EP, it simply leaves me wanting more. One thing I will note is that since Quinn seems to have such a great voice, it would be really cool to hear her sing a strong heavy metal ballad type track. Anyways, I am really looking forward to hearing more of Shokker in the future.
