Singer Jack The Ripper outlines how Speed Stroke reconnected with Street Symphonies Records
Speed Stroke frontman Jack The Ripper was recently interviewed by The New Wave of Hair Metal‘s admin Tom. Earlier this month, the Italian sleaze rockers Speed Stroke released their new studio album Scene of The Crime via Street Symphonies Records / Burning Minds Music Group.
In terms of how Speed Stroke hooked up with Street Symphonies Records, Jack The Ripper indicated (with slight edits): “That’s a funny story. Actually D.B. and Niko‘s previous band “Johnny Burning” was the first ever band produced by Street Symphonies back in 2008. I was a big fan of them and when they split up it was just like the movie “Rock Star” for me, also because it happened in the same way with me singing in front of the stage during one of their gig until they gave me the mic and noticed me from then. Once we built Speed Stroke together, we collaborated with Street Symphonies for the recording of the tribute album in memory of Dave Lepard called “Reborn In Sleaze” were we play “Riot In Everyone” which was our first song recorded together in 2010. Us and Street Symphonies had our differences then and we went separate ways… until today. We thought we could give it another chance after all of these years, so we crossed paths again to work together and bring this album to your beautiful ears.”
With respect to guitarist Michael, the newest member in Speed Stroke, Jack The Ripper stated: “Michael and I have known each other since we were young metalheads on our first drunk nights in rock clubs, I saw him many times playing with his thrash metal band “Rising Dark” and our musical paths crossed many times. I always knew his passion for hard rock and glam rock (which reached the apex in his past career as a wrestler called Mick Vice) so when Niko left the band he was one of the first names that popped up for the spot, especially for his awesome guitar and singing skills. It’s been three years since he joined and he gave us a lot of new energy which I think is well displayed on the new album.”
