‘Black Lotus’, the highly-anticipated new album from Sweden’s Sister Sin is in stores today. Accompanying the full-length release, the powerful music video for the first single “Chaos Royale” has now been released.
‘Black Lotus’ is the follow-up to ‘Now And Forever’, voted one of the best albums of 2012 by Sleaze Roxx readers. “If you want intense in-your-face hard rock and heavy metal look no further than Sister Sin’s latest release Now And Forever,” said the website in a review. “Now And Forever delivers the goods from start to finish, and hopefully, this will be the CD to put Sister Sin on every metal connoisseur’s map.”
Written by guitarist Jimmy Hiltula and drummer Dave Sundburg, the ‘Black Lotus’ story began in May at Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden, with Rikard Lofgren and Gustav Ydenius, along with Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Megadeth) on board to mix.
Vocalist Liv Jagrell discusses the origin of the title, “The album title Black Lotus came up after a couple songs were already written. They seemed to have a darker touch than before and somehow Black Lotus summed that feeling up. Lyric-wise, the inspiration comes from all kinds of places. Mostly personal struggles but also politics and fiction.”
